Pornography alone accounted for 2.5 billion daily emails sent in 2006, equating to 4.5 daily porn emails per person.
Bulk emailers are becoming increasingly sophisticated and unscrupulous in their emailing techniques, often disguising sender information. Typically, the "to" and "from" fields will be forged, even invisible. Even the IP (Internet Protocol) addresses are faked. These techniques make it virtually impossible to determine where the offending spam originated.
